Got Questions?
We welcome 2020 with a renewed vision and commitment to reach out to our neighbors with the good news of Jesus Christ. Our January sermon series, “Got Questions?” focuses on equipping the congregation to engage the culture, share the Gospel, and live out our faith in our neighborhoods.
The series starts, January 12, with a sermon titled, ‘What is So Great about the Great Commission?’ in which Pastor Greg Waybright will explain to us why teaching, discipling, and baptizing the nations are not optional endeavors, but a divine mandate given to each Christian in the Great Commission. On January 19, Pastor Mathew P. John will talk about the uniqueness and significance of the Christian faith compared to other faiths and worldview assumptions in his sermon titled, ‘What is So Good about the Good News?’
The series will then conclude on January 26 with a ‘missional imagination practicum’ entitled, ‘What is So Great about the Great Commandment?’ where Pastors Jeanine Smith and Mathew P. John will help us identify our neighbors and form missional communities in our neighborhoods, with an intentional focus on the celebration of our faith and service to others.
After this series ends we will explore the rest of the big questions at the Alpha Course on Sunday evenings, February 9 to March 22, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in FL 300 (Warehouse). If you have questions or would like to register please visit www.lakeave.org and sign up to be part of the whole experience. This will be a great opportunity to invite family and friends who have questions about the Christian Faith.
