Sexual Faithfulness
I want to begin by thanking you for praying for our family as we prepare to launch Fellowship Monrovia in January 2012. Your Prayers have been felt and very much appreciated. I am very excited about being back home at Lake Ave this weekend.
Dr. Waybright has once again given me an amazing text to preach (small sarcasm). This is a great text to return with!
You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery.' But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body go into hell.

I don't know about you but my first response is WOW! That's pretty drastic don't you think? After thinking about it for a while I came to the conclusion that my first reaction was spot on. Sexual faithfulness is pretty drastic. This whole idea of following Jesus is pretty drastic and it's not something that we should be overwhelmed by, but rather relieved by. I know you are probably thinking how can that verse relieve anybody. Well that is what we will talk about this weekend. As we open God's word together. I pray that the truth of God's word will bring relief and rest to your life as Jesus speaks to us about the adulterous heart.
