Hurricane Relief - Houston
Houston Area
About the trip
Family ministry opportunity to join with Student Ministries and be part of the physical and spiritual rebuilding of following 2017’s Hurricane Harvey.
We will be part of a week intentionally spent in the community creating relationships through a VBS style Kids Camp, home repairs, adult education seminars, a basketball tourney and prayer! It is a week where our partner Attack Poverty typically has hundreds of volunteers, neighbors and children joining together for fun-filled, family-friendly times of service, workshops and community. You will have the opportunity to sit and talk with members of the North Richmond neighorhood, listen to celebrations and difficulties of life, help neighbors connect with resources if needed and together we will learn about the best ways to empower and strengthen this community.
This is our second year of working with Attack Poverty and we look forward to seeing this partnership grow in depth and breadth. Part of that growth is inviting you, the LAC community, to join High School Ministries as they lead our church in assisting in the ongoing Hurricane Harvey recovery. We will provide pre-project training and equipping including asssiting in fund-raising as needed. Supporting worldwide ministry to Muslims by helping at the Summer Conference.
We are looking for LACers who are committed to serve and to facilitate at a major conference sponsored by a preferred sending agency with which LAC partners. This agency supports, equips, and sends 15% of LAC International Staff. Could you take time from work to have a vacation with a purpose by serving as a Conference Staff for a week?
This International Conference will be in Thailand in Aug. 2-11, 2019
With an expected 1600+ people in attendance, we are looking for volunteers to serve with the TCK Ministry, Finance, Sales, Translation, Medical Care, Security Stewards, manage Soundboard and Computer Projection, run the conference office, care for children and young people in a vacation Bible school-style program, “heal” our field workers’ computers at the PC Clinic, and more!
This conference will bring globally minded workers from all over the world. Your serving gifts will enable these International workers to be further equipped and edified for the Kingdom.
