Sometimes opportunities come along that are once-in-a-lifetime. Nearly 40 years ago The Galileans Class of LAC started a tradition of going to Green Oak Ranch in Vista, California for their annual class retreat. Over time they saw the need and the potential to open up their favorite annual retreat to the whole church—and thus Green Oak Camp was born. If you have never been, do yourself and your family a favor and consider attending this year. Your children, spouse and you won't regret the fun, relaxation and joy you will experience.
Mark your calendars! Memorial Day weekend (May 26-29, 2023) we will be celebrating 39 years of Lake Avenue Church going to Green Oak Ranch! This annual family camp opportunity provides us the unique space to be together in an amazing setting, with your family and friends, where you can meet new friends, eat and fellowship together, and partake in a variety of unique indoor and outdoor activities. We offer different types of sleeping accommodations in case tent-camping is not your thing! There are cabins on the property, you can bring an RV, and there is even a hotel outside the gates of the ranch if tent camping simply isn't your thing!
This is also the perfect low stakes opportunity to invite family and friends that don’t attend LAC—or any church. Children and teens are encouraged to bring friends as well. Even though this event is not officially a “church camp” where we spend all day in workshops and listening to guest speakers, it is an environment thoughtfully created to encourage growth as a family, discipleship, serving each other, and growing closer to God while enjoying being out in His creation.
