A GLOBAL LEARNING AND SERVICE PROJECT
Greetings Church Family,
It is our honor to co-lead an international and intentional service and learning trip to Ethiopia starting August 23, 2023. As the Director of the Counseling Center at Lake Avenue Church, and on staff for over 13 years, Tsega always hoped to bring a team to witness and learn from what God is doing in his home country of Ethiopia. Beth, who has been pastoring young adults for the last 2.5 years, has been passionate about helping our younger generation engage missional lifestyles through local and global service. This summer we knew that God brought together a special group to activate our witness of God’s love with action and truth (1 John 3:18).
We’ll go to the capital city of Addis Ababa, a place rich in Christian heritage and a hub of Orthodox, Muslim, and Protestant inter-faith exchange. At the invitation of our partners at EvaSUE, (https://www.evasue.net/) we will primarily assist at a conference that hosts hundreds of young college student leaders who gather annually for a 4-day equipping conference. We'll serve and pray for this group of ‘cream of the crop’ young leaders in ministry who will leave encouraged in their witness to Universities across the country. We will engage the strong evangelistic and revival spirit of the Ethiopian Church and be challenged in our witness as we return home.
