One year ago, the Care Ministries thought it was time for a beautiful decades-long ministry to start back up again. One that would be an encouragement to hundreds of people! This ministry was handed off from Wilma Taylor, Myrt Baker-Melges and the Flower team. The Flower Ministry was halted for about one year and a half. Motivated by a tangible show of love to our church family, it began again!
It’s because of love that every week there is a beautiful arrangement of flowers in the front of the Worship Center. From this arrangement several bouquets are created after Sunday service, prayed over and sent out to be an encouragement and show of love to others.
They have been delivered to over 10 Care facilities in the San Gabriel/Los Angeles area, received at multiple homes, too many to count, sent as a congrats to those who have been baptized, and brightened the days of many in recovery from illnesses and many covid patients also. So that you can share in wonderful answers to prayer we will share encouraging stories of many of our church family.
Here are a few stories for you: One bouquet was given with a scripture verse on it…the gifted person said,” Did you know that this is my favorite Bible verse!” Another was delivered to a family on the day that the Dad’s cancer treatments were completed, without our knowledge, so we celebrated together! One Sunday we were looking for a woman, who would have surgery the next week, to give her a bouquet and we could not find her at church. As we talked together about praying for her, she walked around the corner and we handed off the bouquet to cheer her up. She said, “Oh thank you for my birthday bouquet!” Double blessing! This story has happened multiple times without our knowledge of the birthday celebrations…. the flowers landed just in time at facilities too!
In order for this to happen loving hands and serving hearts have to come together. It’s through donations of vases by many of our family members and many creative hands each week that we have “live encouragements” to deliver! Strategy is needed to put this together each week! For this wonderful work to continue we would love to have others join us in the creation of bouquets or their delivery by becoming a part of the Care Team!
