Alex Neuenburg has been part of the Lake Family since before he was born. He got baptized in February and wanted to encourage others by sharing his story of faith.
Alex is involved in Club 45 (our ministry to 4th and 5th grade students) and learns a lot from his leaders, Blake Riboli and Donovan Doan, and likes playing foosball with his friends. Some of the 4th grade boys go to his school, and he gets to hang out with them. He shared, “I like my Club 45 small group discussions at Lake because it helps me understand the Bible better.”
His family also helps him grow in his understanding and faith, sharing facts about Jesus. When he first became aware of Jesus, he knew immediately that He is our Savior. He shared how he knows that God is working in our lives today, “Because I had to believe in Him at times and He didn’t let me down, like the day my dad went skydiving I had to trust God that He would keep my dad safe.”
While we sat at a local yogurt shop, I asked him about when it’s hardest to trust God, and He responded, “Sometimes it’s hard when there is something difficult happening at school and I’m having a bad day.” His mom, Linda, shared how that’s something none of us grows out of, but with time we learn how to depend on Jesus more and more.
On the day of his baptism, his family and Sunday School friends were there to support him. He shared, “For those who are nervous about getting baptized, it’s not scary. You just go under water and it’s warm like a Jacuzzi! Someone can’t decide it for you, you have to make the decision for yourself.”
