Read John 21:1-17
- What is Peter’s (and the rest of the disciples’) emotional state of being at the beginning of this story? What clues in the passage help us understand their state of mind?
- Why do Peter and the disciples decide to go fishing? What would be the equivalent of “going fishing” in your own life?
- Why do you think Jesus asks Peter the same question, “Do you love me?” three times? What is the significance of this repeated phrase?
- Jesus asks Peter in verse 15, “Do you love me more than these?” According to Pastor Steve, what are the “these” in this question?
- When you think about your own life, what are your “these”?
- Who do you have around you (small group) to process YOUR “these”?
