Questions for Reflection
Luke 24:1-8; 2 Corinthians 4:14, 16-18
- Imagine what the women would say about what they had lost when Jesus initially died and again when they found the empty tomb (Luke 24:1-5). How did Paul describe some of his life experiences (2 Cor 4:8-9)?
- What have been some of your hard moments in life? What have you lost? What has outwardly “wasted away” for you, physically, materially, relationally, etc. (2 Cor 4:16)?
- What has NOT happened to Paul because of the all-surpassing power of God (2 Cor 4:7-9)? Who is the one who will redeem our troubles and how will it happen (2 Cor 4:14)?
- To not lose heart and to be renewed daily, what must we do (2 Cor 4:18)? What can you do in your weekly or daily life that will help you become aware of what is unseen and eternal?
- Imagine again, what must the women have felt hearing the words, ‘He has risen!’ (Luke 24:8)? Knowing Jesus has conquered death for you to be with him (2 Cor 4:14), what emotions well up in you as you hear, ‘He has Risen!’?
