- In 1 Peter 1:17, we read another description of what this holy life should be like when we read that we should live as “strangers” here honoring the ways of God rather than the world. This word “strangers” really means resident aliens, suggesting that we should live in this country but as citizens of another country (i.e., God’s country). How might this make your life different from others in society?
- In 1 Peter 1:17, this holy life is motivated by a “reverent fear” of the God who is judge? What does this mean? How should this motivate you to live a holy life?
- The other motive for holy living is gratitude for what Christ has done. What does Peter say we know about our salvation in 1 Peter 1:18-20?
- How does 1 Peter 1:21 provide encouragement to live for God in the midst of tough times?
- What is the main lesson you hope to apply to your life from this passage?
