- Read Matthew 14:22-33 as well as the parallel accounts in Mark 6:45-52 and John 6:16-21. What are some unique facts or perspectives that come out when comparing these accounts?
- Read 1 Peter 1:6-7. "Storms" of correction come when God needs to discipline us. "Storms" of perfection come when God is helping us to grow. Reflect and share about these kinds of trials in your own life.
- Read Mark 6:48, Romans 8:34, and Hebrews 4:14-16. How does it help to know that Jesus is praying for us?
- Read 2 Corinthians 1:8-10. Share an example of how a trial caused you to depend more on God.
- Read Hebrews 12:1-4. Reflect on the statement: "Faith is not believing in spite of evidence, but obeying in spite of consequence."
