- In 1 Peter 5:2b–3, Peter lists three ways the elders are to go about their leadership. What are they and why?
- What principles from 1 Peter 5:1–4 could be applied to any kind of leadership?
- In 1 Peter 5:5, Peter gives some teaching specifically to to those who are not elders (which is probably what he means rather than just “young men)? What does he say? Why is this especially important for those who are under the elders’ leadership?
- 1 Peter 5:6–9 discuss the devil. Verses 6–7 call for humility and discarding our anxiety. How might pride and anxiety open the door for the devil to do a work in our lives?
- In 1 Peter 5:8–9, what does Peter say we should do to resist the devil?
- After all of the teaching Peter gives throughout 1 Peter, he concludes with a promise and a benediction. Do his words still encourage believers in our day? How?
