- In Philippians 3:4-6, Paul lists some of the things that were at the center of his life before he met Jesus. What were they? What was of greatest significance to you before you followed Jesus? (If you came to Jesus at a very early age, what would be central to you now if Jesus was not your Lord?)
- How does Paul describe his former set of values in 3:7-8? How do his words apply to your own life?
- Describe in your own words Paul's longing stated in 3:9-11. Should this desire be true of all Christians? Why or why not?
- Some have said that Paul's statement in 3:12-14 is "an honest testimony of a true believer." What is his confession? What is his commitment?
