No More Sickness

Mark 1:29-45

1. Read 1:29–31. We have seen that Jesus is starting a big mission in which there are battles against supernatural forces (1:21–18). Why do you think that one sick woman was of such importance to Jesus? What does this teach us about him?
   
2. The woman was healed to serve (v. 31). See also Mark 10:35–45. What do we learn about following Jesus from these texts?
   
3. If we had the success in healings and exorcisms Jesus had, most of us would market that success to the world. Read 1:31–34, 44. Why do you think that Jesus wanted no publicity?
   
4. Read 1:35–39. What do we learn about prayer (vv. 35–37) and preaching (v. 38) from the priorities of Jesus?
   
5. Read the beautiful story in 1:40–45. Put the episode into your own words. How would you describe to a friend what happened that day?
   
6. If you met this same Jesus today, what changes would he bring about in your life?
