- Compare Luke 1:1–4 to Acts 1:1–2. What do you observe? How seriously does Luke think we should take the events he records?
- What does Luke emphasize about Jesus' last meeting with his followers in Acts 1:3? Why are these things important?
- Do you think Jesus' command to his followers in 1:4–5 has any importance for us today? Why?
- Look at the followers' question in 1:6 and Jesus' response in 1:7–8. What does it tell us about Jesus' priorities in relationship to the questions that seem most important to us?
- What should be the focus of our lives (both individually and as a church) in the light of Jesus' last words in 1:8?
