Dr. Philip Graham Ryken is the eighth president of Wheaton College, where he studied philosophy and English literature and met his wife Lisa during Orientation. He earned a Master of Divinity degree from Westminster Theological Seminary and a doctorate in historical theology from the University of Oxford.
Dr. Ryken returned from England to join the pastoral staff at Philadelphia's Tenth Presbyterian Church, where he preached for 15 years. He has published more than 30 books, including The Message of Salvation; Ryken's Bible Handbook ; Art for God's Sake; and expository commentaries on Exodus, Ecclesiastes, Luke, and other books of the Bible. The Rykens have five children: Josh, Kirsten, Jack, Kathryn, and Karoline.
