When I was in 3rd grade we sang a song at summer camp from Isaiah 43 that had a part in it which we shouted FEAR NOT. It was my favorite song because when we got to that part it was acceptable to get up and shout at the top of our lungs. As I reflect back on this memory, I am amazed at how important remembering this phrase would be for me for the rest of my life. If you are anything like me, fear shows up all the time in our lives. The good news is that that the Scripture is consistent that we are to FEAR NOT because HE is with us.
This week, we will learn more about how God addresses Moses' fear. As we read this interaction between Moses and God, I think that we will find great comfort and challenge from the words of God. I think we will also see that we are not all that different from Moses, and that God's words to Moses have great meaning for our lives as well.
My prayer this week is that we will FEAR NOT and fully embrace the mission that God has for each of us. There is work to be done, people to love, and a kingdom to build – and God wants us to partner with him in his work!
