Why do the authorities object to what the apostles are doing (vs. 17 and 28)? Why do you think the Jewish leaders were jealous? When might you be tempted to be jealous of another Christian’s success?
Why do the apostles go right back to doing what got them into trouble in the first place (vs. 19-20, 29)? What do you imagine has given them the strength to stay faithful to God?
What has God accomplished and why (vs. 30-32)? What might the role of the Holy Spirit be in this passage (vs. 19-20, 23)? Who receives the Holy Spirit (vs. 32)?
Considering obedience and authority, list examples of scenarios where you would, and would not, follow an earthly authority even though you disagree. What role does Scripture, prayer and other believers play in the decision-making process?
