Small Group Questions
Read Romans 13:8-10
- Today we often think of love as an emotion, but this passage seems to talk about love as an action. How are these two perspectives on love the same? How are they different?
- Verse 8 says that we have a continuing debt to love one another. Where does this debt come from?
- In verse 9 Paul writes of things that we are commanded not to do and things we are actively commanded to do. Do you find it harder to avoid doing harm or to actively do good? Why?
- Love does no harm to a neighbor. Who are some of your neighbors you have harmed in the past? How can you love those people now?
- What are some of the implications of this passage for communities, not just individuals? How can the communities you are a part of do a better job of loving your neighbors?
