Questions for Reflection
Isaiah 43 and 46
- Review Isaiah 43:1-2, 5-7 and 11-13. What has God done? What will God do? How will you participate? Review Isaiah 46:3-4. What has God done and what will God do? How personally has God sustained you in the past?
- Review Isaiah 43:22-26. What were the transgressions of the Israelites? How are they like your own sins and brokenness? Spend time in confession.
- Read 43:18-19 and receive that God has forgiven you and forgotten your sins. What new thing is God calling you to now? How will your words and your deeds bear witness to God’s goodness?
- Review Isaiah 46:5-7 and 12-13. What cannot save and what can? Are you tempted to lean on other things to rescue you?
- Review Isaiah 46:8-9. Take time to remember how God has saved you. Consider for this week a physical reminder that might go up in your home or a time you might mark on your calendar to bring you back to remembering this.
