Greetings LAC Families,
We have officially launched into Rooted as a church community, with opportunities for connection and discipleship from Preschool upwards.
Students PK-5th are experiencing the Rooted journey within their Sunday morning classes, and over 90 MS & HS students are now participating in small groups spanning Sundays and Wednesdays!
If you have any questions about Rooted for MS & HS, feel free to reach out to Lisa Liou, who is serving as Interim Rooted Youth Coordinator - .
Next Gen. Director Search Update:
Over the last few months we have asked for prayer regarding the search for a Next Gen. Director, and we are excited to announce and welcome Rufus Samuel into this role! He will begin his season of pastoring our highschoolers and providing leadership and oversight for MS & HS programs on February 7, giving him time to connect with students at winter camp later this month.
Rufus comes to us with over seven years of experience working with children, students, and volunteers in various contexts, and holds a Masters of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary. During his interview process, the selection team described him as extremely relational, welcoming, and excited about ministry to young people. The team is grateful for his successful experience in the San Gabriel Valley and various multicultural settings. He is excited about the younger generation and a couple students who participated in the process described him as chill and relatable, and they feel he is able to understand where they are and youth culture.
Connect:
Please save the date and join us for a Parent Coffee & Charcuterie Connection night on Thursday 2/16 at 7pm in the Maple Street Student Check-in lobby (MS100). All parents of children birth to 12th are welcome! This will be an opporunity to meet our new Next Gen Director, engage with Pastor Mathew and Family Ministries, as well as connect with a community of fellow parents.
May the Lord continue to bless you and your families as we continue on in this journey of faith.
Sincerely,
Christy Cooper
