Hello LAC families,
It is with sadness for LAC and great anticipation for the Ohl family that we announce Adam Ohl’s last day on staff at Lake Ave will be June 26th.
Adam has been an amazing joy to work with. He has brought so much life into our children’s ministry. God brought him and his family into our Lake family at just the right time, before the pandemic. Adam’s talents with film and puppetry gave so much life to the ministry during the pandemic that we changed our methods of ministering to the children as we continued to meet in person. The entire Ohl family will be deeply missed. We pray the best for them on their upcoming adventure.
We will have a special breakfast at 8:30 am on the first floor of Maples Street on Sunday, June 12th to celebrate the Ohl family. Please come by to grab coffee/pastries and say Thank you to Adam.
Below is more from Adam about his family’s next steps.

Dear LAC Families,
I have absolutely loved my time at LAC. You have genuinely and lovingly welcomed me, my wife Melissa, little Adam Wayne, and of course Quibbles and Co. into the LAC community. This job has been a dream experience for me, being a part of and working alongside, the amazing and hysterically fun Family Ministries team. I have loved interacting and creating relationships with all the various LAC ministry departments. I enjoyed creating a Sesame Street-type atmosphere, with Quibbles and friends, fully integrating puppet and children interaction to entertain and teach children. I even thought we might stay here until I retire, which made our decision to leave an incredibly hard decision to come to.
We have been seeking guidance from God over the last number of months, and we feel He has been opening very specific doors to us. Melissa decided to step away from teaching full-time, as it has not allowed her to spend the time she wants with our son Adam Wayne. She would like to take at least a year off, as the Lord has blessed us with a new little munchkin on the way. Along with that, the convenient timing of our apartment lease, being up in June makes it an ideal time to move. In this, we feel the Lord calling us into a new season of unknown adventure and exciting opportunities.
Our immediate plan after VBS is to relocate near our relatives on the east coast during the pregnancy. As we follow God’s lead, we will be exploring areas like Atlanta, Nashville, and Florida. As I continue to look for opportunities to work in both children’s ministries while staying close to areas where the entertainment industry is active to pursue acting, I will continue puppeteering and trying to work in children’s television content.
We are truly and deeply saddened to be leaving our church family at LAC, but we feel that God is guiding us to a new season of exciting opportunities. If anyone would like to learn and talk with us more, I am more than happy to chat with you. We truly appreciate your love and support, as we get ready to take this leap of faith.
Sincerely,
Adam Ohl
