LAC Families-
As you all may already know, our middle school and high school students are off having a blast at summer camp this week at Thousand Pines Christian Camp! Our Director of High School Ministries sent out an email last week with requests for prayer and I'd love to pass those along. We need prayer for our students' safety as they travel home from camp on Friday, play in the sun and run around with their friends. We need prayer for the community being built through play, cabin discussions and church activities. Lastly, we need prayer for our students to be able to meet Jesus where they are, both physically and spiritually.
We've been hearing great things about their time at camp so far and Chuck had the opportunity to go visit them yesterday and came back with some amazing highlights! Here are a few...

HIGHLIGHTS FROM STUDENTS
Because of one of the sermons, one of our sophomores plans to come back from camp with a new outlook on their relationship with Jesus. The speaker of the week talked about how sometimes we tend to use God as an "emergency button", only turning to Him when we need something. This student wants to change that and turn their relationship with God into one where they engage with Him in good times and in the bad.
One of our seniors expressed how camp has inspired them to step into their church community more and apply for our LAC family ministries summer internship next summer! Amazing!
A general highlight from our middle school ministry was a moment in the pool where all of the students that served together at Vacation Bible School earlier this summer started singing one of the VBS songs in unison, reminiscing on the fun they had serving together. How great is it that they were able to hangout again at camp!?
As the students and volunteers finish out their week at camp, join us in praying for a few additional things:
- Prayer for Jesus to show up in the lives of the students that don't know Him
- Prayer for our kids that are returning home to family situations that are not the best
We will have more information and reflection on the excitement of camp in the coming weeks, but for now keep our students, volunteers and staff in your prayers and know that they are having SO much fun together!
