Dear LAC Families,
I’m writing to you on the cusp of what feels like a new season – traditionally known as May, but perhaps experienced more closely as “the-chaos-that-ensues-as-the-end-of-the-school-year-approaches”. Though given the gift of a friendly reminder that parts of the natural world are entering full bloom this weekend, unlike the hanging wisteria or dew-drenched roses at the Huntington Gardens, I sometimes forget the need to slow down, take a deep breath, and remember that God’s Spirit is yearning to bloom in me too. Whether you are immersed in drop-offs, pick-ups, practices, performances, assessments, or any other task on the endless list of end-of the year to-dos, it is my prayer that you’d experience the gift of God’s promise for new life, in your life right now.
As a church community, there are a number of ways to experience life together in the days ahead. I hope to experience God in you, with you.

Children’s Ministry Focus (birth-5th)
5/7 at 9:30-11:00 AM: Children’s Ministry Focus: Coffee & Donuts & Prayer on the Playground - Come enjoy food & fellowship while your kids play on the Maple Street Playground. Connect with other parents, ask VBS related questions to our Children’s Staff, and take to intentionally pray for our children as part of the Day of Prayer. Questions? Green Oak Family Camp:
5/26-5/29 - All Weekend at Green Oak Ranch in Vista, CA
One of the best ways to forge community and life-long memories with the LAC Church family. Bring a tent, bring your family, bring treats and s’mores to share! We’ll have a campsite with excessive goodies and activities galore. Hope to see you there!

6/26-6/30 - Vacation Bible School - Stellar!
Truly, the event we’ve all been waiting for – it’s time for Vacation Bible School, and sign-ups are well underway. Sign up your kids, and sign up yourselves as volunteers! I’m thrilled to be participating in this cosmic event, and hoping to find a way to convince someone to let me dress in galactic attire. With this year’s theme being “Stellar”, the focus will be on launching kids on a cosmic quest where they’ll have a blast shining Jesus’ light to the world!
