Ascent with Jacob's Ladder
Dear ,
At our New Year Concert, I shared the vision God has laid upon my heart for our community—Jacob's Ladder, a bridge between heaven and earth marked by ascending and descending angels (Genesis 28:10-19). My prayer is that our community will similarly become a conduit for numerous salvations and powerful manifestations of God’s presence in the coming season.
We witnessed two pivotal movements within our church family last year. We began with the Rooted experience, which drew us closer in unity and solidarity. We ended the year embracing Missional communities, propelling us to shine the light of Christ in our neighborhoods. We are now poised to transition our Missional Communities into the new rhythm of “Serve Together.” Our Community Formation team is identifying serving opportunities in your respective zones, which will enable us to demonstrate the Gospel through practical assistance to those around us. To each person who has stepped forward in this mission, know that your dedication reflects the active spirit of our church. If you have yet to join us, I invite you to sign up on our Missional Community page - here.
This coming Sunday, I am planning to unveil our new vision and mission statements, alongside a newly crafted “discipleship pathway” for our congregation. What follows is a journey I am particularly passionate about — "The Quest: Exploring the Foundations of Our Faith." This introductory series to theology will attempt to distill profound doctrinal truths into simple language, making them accessible to every person in the pew. I encourage you to attend with prayerful hearts. Also, don’t forget to invite your friends and family who would like to explore the Christian faith for the first time.
Wishing you a blessed New Year, from Joanne, Hannah, Emma, and myself.
Yours in Christ,
