Return, Rebuild and Reconnect
Dear ,
This fall we are returning and rebuilding our common bonds at Lake. We kicked off the Fall season with Pastor Mathew's teaching series "Return and Rebuild,” a Study in the book of Ezra.
In addition, Pastor Mathew unveiled a new paradigm for building strong neighborhood communities with the launch of "Missional Community” Neighborhood Zones. If you were not able to join us last Sunday, you can listen to his message “Murmuration 2.0”. We will continue to expand and share more on how we plan to roll out this new community emphasis this coming Sunday and Sundays to come.
We are also once again hosting another Alpha Course - a 7-Sunday group gathering intended for first-time participants who have questions or want to learn more about the basic tenets of the Christian faith in a friendly, open, and informal environment.
We are also relaunching a new round of Rooted Discipleship Groups for those who want to join a missional community (aka small group) and have not taken Rooted before.
In addition to these all-church initiatives, we have several one-time, mid-week, and other ministry opportunities we want you to be aware of this fall.
We are re-launching our Men's Ministries with a wonderful Men's Breakfast and Service Project on Saturday, September 30. The men of Lake will meet in HH 400 (Skyroom) for a wonderful breakfast and opportunity to hear more about Men's Ministries, get to know other men in the church, and then together go to serve at Providence Homes here in Pasadena.
This November, the Women of Lake are gathering for a half-day retreat titled “Pursuing Peace” right here, on-site at Lake for a time of communal listening, sharing, and enjoying each other's company over lunch.
For couples we have also brought back our Couples Date Night titled “Love in Every Season.” This event is open to all couples - those who are dating, engaged, and who may be married for decades. We want to offer a time of getting to know other couples in the church over a beautiful gourmet dinner and dessert, and guest speakers who will share resources for strengthening your dating and marriage relationships. To get your early registration discount please RSVP and pay by September 30.
Finally, on Friday, October 20 and Saturday, October 21, we will host our annual Legacy Grandparenting Summit. This 2-day national conference will provide those in the second half of life with tools and resources to influence and make a difference in their grandkid's lives. Register by September 30 to save money on the event.
We have many more things to share including a Membership Seminar on September 24, Baptism Orientation Classes on September 17 and October 22, Men's and Women's Mid-week opportunities, Young Adult Discipleship meetings, morning and Wednesday Night prayer gatherings, Monday night Grandparenting groups, Family Chat Forums, a Lunch gathering with International Staff Eric Zander, and more. For all these and more please visit our Events page online.
About Parking As we continue to return to campus and our attendance grows on Sunday, we ask, if you are able, please park at the Gateway Plaza in order to allow guests, families with strollers, our elderly, and those with special needs to park in the West Parking lot. Thank you in advance for being a light to our neighbors and community by not parking on the streets.
