Missional Living in Our Neighborhoods
Dear ,
A teenager befriended me after church last Sunday. “I visited LAC for the first time a few weeks ago,” he said. “I found the images and the story of Revelation so captivating that I asked my whole family to come to church with me.” Then he introduced me to his parents and sister, who explained in great length how excited they were about their new home church and how grateful they were for the series on Revelation!
Nothing brings me greater joy than hearing the cry of the newborn Christians on our campus. Of late, many people I greet in the lobby are those who have started attending in the last three to six months. This presents us with a tremendous responsibility to embrace them into our LAC Family and a great opportunity to disciple them into spiritual maturity. As the famous African adage wisely states, “It takes a village to raise a child.”
In light of this, I would like to request your immediate assistance in two areas:
- If you have experience or a keen interest in creative arts, such as copywriting, editing, or multimedia production, we could greatly benefit from your talents in developing resources for our outreach and discipleship programs. If this resonates with you, please send a brief e-mail introducing yourself to .
- Our search committee has recently finalized and posted the job descriptions for the Associate Pastor of Congregational Life and is actively seeking potential candidates. Please read the committee's update and consider recommending individuals who are a good fit for this role. Also, you can explore other opportunities to join our team by visiting the jobs at lake webpage.
Lake Avenue Church has earned a reputation worldwide for its impact on the global mission field. Our upcoming series, Missio Dei, aims to rekindle our passion for the Great Commission and equip us to live missionally in our own neighborhoods. Furthermore, we will be dedicating the third Sunday of each month as a Mission Sunday, featuring stories from our international staff serving in various parts of the world.
Lastly, it was a joy to restart the Fireside Chat and continue candid conversations with all of you. I value your questions, feedback, and comments by e-mail, and I assure you that they will be addressed and answered in this forum while respecting your anonymity. Please keep sharing your thoughts and questions.
Sending you all my love and prayers,
