A Rooted Revolution, Holy Week, and Looking Ahead
Dear , We couldn't have chosen a better time than Holy Week for the culmination of the "Rooted Revolution." What a fun ride it was! Joanne and I were part of an intergenerational group, where we were referred to as the "olders." I eagerly awaited every Wednesday night when I could sit back, relax and learn from the "youngers" without having to be a pastor. We began with ten members, and we ended with the same number - an attrition rate of zero, which is virtually unheard of in church circles! If you were not able to join us for the Rooted Celebration Service that took place on Saturday, April 1, you can view it on YouTube anytime. It was a beautiful moment of sharing, baptisms, prayer, worship and testimonies from the LAC Family.
As we move into Holy Week, let us take a moment to reflect and consider how we will continue practicing the "seven rhythms of discipleship" that we learned through the Rooted experience. Our team is working diligently to create ministry opportunities to guide you in the upcoming season, which will be conveyed through the group facilitators. If you missed out on the Rooted experience, don't worry - we will offer it regularly throughout the year. Our next one is scheduled for the week of September 17, 2023. If you are interested in being contacted simply e-mail or fill out the Rooted Interest Form.
I look forward to seeing you at our Good Friday (7.30 pm) and Easter Services (7 am or 9.30 am) this week. Please don’t forget to invite your friends and family to church as we celebrate the pivotal points in our sacred story - the death and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. At the Easter service, I will give you a sneak peek of our upcoming teaching series, “Return of the King” – A narrative analysis of the Book of Revelation.
In closing, I am writing this note on the first anniversary of my appointment as your senior pastor. I took over during a tumultuous period, was immediately tasked with a million-dollar budget cut, and inherited a bylaw revision process with a complicated history. Without your unconditional love and unwavering support, I would not have been able to navigate this challenging terrain. I am deeply grateful for your continued prayers and support. Thank you!
I miss having candid conversations with you at the Fireside chats which will resume on May 3. In the meantime, please feel free to connect with me at .
In prayers,
