On August 28 at 11 am, we will gather for our Summer Congregational Meeting to elect leaders for the Ministry Council and Ministry Divisions that will serve during the new ministry year we are entering into as a church family. As explained in our previous update, the Nominating Committee was hard at work identifying and qualifying returning and new nominees (within a record amount of time!) for our elected leadership slate this term. Thank you to those of you who have been praying for the committee & over the leaders that will rise up to serve in the coming ministry year. The committee was blessed to have met so many wonderful members of our church who are passionate about serving the Lord and being the hands and feet of Jesus through the work of Lake Avenue Church. As the committee looked at open leadership seats and sought input from current leadership, specific ministry needs became clear for the coming ministry year. The nominees on the slate bring specific life experiences and spiritual maturity that meet these needs. We are grateful for all your prayers, as we truly felt the Spirit leading the calling of this slate of leaders.

We are excited to present an online elected leadership slate that includes a video introduction from each candidate. Get to know our leadership nominees by watching their video introduction at www.lakeave.org/nomcom. Prior to August 28, you’ll also want to review the Summer Meeting Packet at www.lakeave.org/leadership. Printed copies of the Summer Meeting Packet will be made available starting Sunday, August 21 on our campus so that our newest members can be included.

The leadership election will be open for active members from August 28 to August 30. To ensure all our church family members have the opportunity to participate, active members will have a variety of ways to participate in the election either online, in person, over e-mail, or by phone. Prior to our congregational meeting and your ballot submission, please take the time to get to know these wonderful people by watching their video introductions. SUMMER CONGREGATIONAL MEETING

Should the Nominating Committee finish their work producing an elected leadership slate, we will hold our annual Summer Congregational Meeting on Sunday, August 28 at 11 am, right after our 9:30 am worship service, in-person and live-streamed on YouTube.

Agenda items will include welcoming in new members, and electing incoming leaders for the 2022-2023 ministry year that was temporarily approved to start October 1 by the Congregation. The Ministry Council will also be presenting the proposed ministry plan and budget to the church family for approval. A meeting packet will be available for download or available to be picked up in person in early August.

Childcare is available for birth to 5 years old. A kid-friendly space is being provided for families where the meeting will be live-streamed. Register your child so that we can set up the right room!

If you are not a member, you are welcome to attend and we invite you to consider becoming a member at our upcoming “Partnering with Lake” Membership Seminar on Sunday, August 14.
