Hope you all are doing well and are as excited as we are about the events coming up. Check out down below for info on Find my Friend and Batte of the Bands!
On Sunday we emphasized the power of testimony with the students and had some of them share what God has been doing in their lives. A community is a space where we feel safe and empowered to share our story and we want to cultivate that in our student ministries so we want to open that to you parents as well. if any of you are interested in sharing your testimony with our students reach out to us and let us know. We'd love to have a night for some of you to share and let the students learn from the people who have gone before them.
Also, as many of you know, Amy (our head of Childrens Ministries) will be leaving Lake Avenue at the end of the month and we know some of you have worked with her or been blessed by her ministry. So if any of you have anything you want to say, an encouragement, a blessing, or anything at all, we will be collecting cards this Sunday at church, just bring them by and we'll be giving them to her before she leaves.
We're so thankful for the all the connections we are seeing being made between the students and we look forward to seeing more in the coming days. Check out below for some upcoming events!

Find My Friend
This will be a Palentines Party for newcomers to get to know everyone in the group and hopefully find some friends at Lake! THIS Wednesday! We'll have fun snacks, conversation tables, and play some trust building games at 6:30PM in the Warehouse. We really encourage the students to bring their friends from school as this will be a perfect opportunity for them to get to know people. We look forward to seeing what new students show up and we hope all of them will Find a Friend here at Lake Avenue!
Battle of the Bands
ONLY THREE WEEKS AWAY!!! Battle of the bands is back and it is Demolition Derby themed this year. We'll have a junked car, pinatas, and more things to smash (safely of course) as well as Handels Ice Cream and a Taco truck there for food and dessert. We have extended an invitation to a number of other churches so we're excited to open this event up to the community. This is a wonderful place to introduce people to lake so tell your friends and get more students out there.
Now it wouldn't be Battle of the Bands without the student lead bands all competing for the $250 cash prize! If you have a student who is part of a band or is intersted in making one, please let us know. We are taking sign ups now and only have a few slots so make sure you lock it in if you want to compete. Events to remember!
Find My Friend: TONIGHT Tomorrow Night! Wednesday the 21st, a party where you can get to know people in the Warehouse at 6:30pm.
Battle of the Bands: March 13th is our big battle of the bands. From 6 to 9pm we'll have an epic music competition with fun games and more!
Junior/Senior Life group: A small group for juniors and seniors in high school that usually meets at Jeff Ragusa's house every other Tuesday at 7pm.
Reoccuring:
These are the events happening every week.
Tuesday Night Hangouts: 5pm-7pm in the Warehouse every Tuesday night.
Wednesday Nights: 6:30pm in the Warehouse and 8:30pm pick up in the warehouse. Games, worship, and small groups.
Sunday Mornings: 9:30am in the Warehouse and hangout as long as you want, we play games, have worship and have a sermon.
