Happy Valentines
Chinese New Year, Valentines, Super Bowl Sunday, and Ash Wednesday! Everything is happening around the same time. Hopefully you all are enjoying the celebrations and are ready for more cause we've got a lot coming up.
Ash Wednesday being today means we will be having a worship service in the main sanctuary at 7PM, open to everyone. This means our regular youth group will NOT be in the Warehouse, but instead meeting in the sanctuary to sit together at 7PM.
We are so thankful for the time we had up at Winter camp, check out down below for pictures and a recap from Winter Camp! We also have a fun game night coming up and our annual Battle of the Bands is on the horizon. Check out everything below and stay updated on upcoming events!

Find My Friend
This will be a Palentines Party for newcomers to get to know everyone in the group and hopefully find some friends at Lake! Next Wednesday! We'll have fun snacks, conversation tables, and play some trust building games at 6:30PM in the Warehouse. We really encourage the students to bring their friends from school as this will be a perfect opportunity for them to get to know people. We look forward to seeing what new students show up and we hope all of them will Find a Friend here at Lake Avenue!
Winter Camp Recap!
It took us a while to get up the mountain but once we were there it was a blast! There was about 3ft of snow on everything which made it exciting to move to and from our cabins but it also meant an unending supply of snowballs!
The speaker for the weekend focused on the idea of being transformed from "one degree of glory to another" (2 Cor 3:18). Emphasizing the transformation that comes with our lives in Christ and how we must carry that transformation down the mountain. We as a church read through Galatians 5 and gave the kids a space to be set free from things like Anger, Greed, Lies, Lust and more. Overall we were so encouraged to see the engagement from the students in prayer, worship, and the community.
We got to see a lot of friendships begin and grow deeper and we want to see that continue down the mountain. The overall camaraderie between our students at this camp, even between high shool and middle schoolers, was a real testimony to the heart of this community.
We have some LOST AND FOUND items that were left on the bus including a nice pair of black sweat pants, a large pair of black winter gloves and a blue beanie that says King. Let us know if any of these are yours and you can come pick them up at the Lake office. There are more pictures on our instagram if you'd like to see those. We are so thankful for a successful Winter camp and we are confident God is working in our students in wonderful ways.
Marriage Ministry Survey
We have been asked to get as many parents as we can to fill out this form from the Marriage Ministry team. They have created this survey for the families with kids in any of our childrens and students programs so that they can have a better idea of how to support and encourage all that you guys do as parents. The form will take only 3 minutes to fill out so if you would please take a second to fill it out we'd be so thankful!
