Hello families,
We are ONE WEEK away from Pumpking Palooza!!!
This will be our biggest event for the fall and so we want everyone to get involved. By the grace of generous hands we have some incredible prizes for all the winners at the event, but we need your help to make it happen. Whether it is serving, donating, or spreading the word, help us next Wednesday on October 25th put on the best Halloween party this neighborhood has ever seen! If you have candy to donate or would like to set up a trunk or treat just reach out to us and let us know. There is more info below but just know that everyone is welcome and that it is going to be a blast!
We want to thank all the parents who have already responded to our intoduction of Host Homes. We are beginning to organize groups and will work with you to make sure these small groups connect well and are great for both you all and the students. But in case you missed what Host Homes is all about here is the next big direction our student ministries is headed:
Host Homes
We want an intergenerational ministry where students build healthy, longlasting relationships with each other but also with you parents. If you are interested in being more involved in the lives of the students in this ministry and want to connect on a deeper level then you are invted to join Host Homes. The vision for this minsitry is to give students a space to connect better on a personal level with each other and with you parents. It can be as simple as a board game night, a movie night, or a food tasting event. We just ask that you be available to open your home to 4-7 students at a time, that we will help bring in for you to interact with and potentially build relationships with. This is a chance for them to learn from a different generation in a more relational setting and for you to connect more with the students.
We see this as a wonderful opportunity for our students to get to know YOU. So do not feel intimidated by the idea of interacting with middle and high school kids. We know this might seem daunting but we feel it is where the Spirit is leading this ministry and we trust that as we all learn to depend on the Spirit we will see fruit from this ministry. So please, pray about it and if you have a desire to open your home to these students, let us know and we will begin to work with you in crafting a stronger, interconnected, and supportive community.

Pumpkin Palooza
Pumpkin Palooza is going BIG this year! On October 25th we will be having our annual Halloween party in the Lake Avenue Parking Lot from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. We are planning things like a costume runway competition, a bouncy house, and a massive trunk or treat area. There will be food available for purchase and plenty of games and pumpkins to carve. However, WE NEED YOU! We want this to be a Pasadena event, not just a Lake Avenue event, so spread the word! This event is open to all ages of kids so tell your schools, your friends, and your neighbors. We'll be providing pamphlets you can hand out soon to help with this. Thank you for working with us to make this event bigger than just Lake Avenue.
Winter Camp
We are finalizing details on Winter camp for around the beginning of February with Camp Pondo! This is going to be a powerful experience for the students and hopefully one of deep connections between peers and leaders so we really encourage participation in our youth camps. We want to get an idea of how many are interested so if you think you'd like to send your students just fill out the form below, this does not lock anything in, it just gives us a better idea of how to plan going forward. Thank you!
