Hello families,
As we approach the month of October, the anticipation for Halloween and all its spooky fun is growing! We hope you're all gearing up for the thrill of dressing up in costumes and indulging in those delightful sugar highs. Our most significant event this month is Pumpkin Palooza, which will take place on October 25. We encourage parents to bring their children and invite their friends to join in the festivities. We are incredibly excited to see what this upcoming month has in store for us. Looking back, we are still immersed in our study of Acts 2 in our small group sessions. If you want to know join them in studing Acts please do so! We want to express our gratitude to all the parents for their unwavering commitment to this student ministry. Our aim is to create a bridge that connects your child to their family, our community, and most importantly, their relationship with Jesus. So here is what is coming up:
Host Homes
We're excited to introduce a way for our students and parents to connect within our minsitry. If you're interested in being more involved in your child's life, the other students in this program and want to create a space for meaningful interactions, we invite you to join Host Homes. Our vision for this program is to provide our students with opportunities to connect with parents or people who are in a different generation than them and build a sense of community. We'd love to see parents open their homes to host various events and activities. For example, you could host a board game night, a movie night, a bible study, or any other gathering that interests you. Students will sign up for the events that align with their preferences so that you will not get 20 students but 4-7 students, giving them a chance to build relationships with you and for you build something with them. This is designed to be an intergenerational ministry that benefits both students and parents. It's an opportunity for our students to learn from you, and for you to learn from our students. In this time especially in our culture we are believing that the older generation are to stay way from students but that is completely wrong. Parents we need you, we need you to pour into our students. We understand that building relationships can be challenging and it can seem daunting hanging with middle schoolers or high schoolers, but we believe it will be a rewarding experience for everyone involved. We hope you're as excited as we are about this opportunity to strengthen our community and create lasting connections. Pray about this and pray how you can be apart of this!

Pumpkin Palooza
Pumpkin Palooza is going BIG this year! On October 25th we will be having our annual Halloween party in the Lake Avenue Parking Lot from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. We are planning things like a costume runway competition, a bouncy house, and a massive trunk or treat area. There will be food available for purchase and plenty of games and pumpkins to carve. However, WE NEED YOU! We want this to be a Pasadena event, not just a Lake Avenue event, so spread the word! This event is open to all ages of kids so tell your schools, your friends, and your neighbors. We'll be providing pamphlets you can hand out soon to help with this. Thank you for working with us to make this event bigger than just Lake Avenue.
Winter Camp
We are finalizing details on Winter camp for around the beginning of February with Camp Pondo! This is going to be a powerful experience for the students and hopefully one of deep connections between peers and leaders so we really encourage participation in our youth camps. We want to get an idea of how many are interested so if you think you'd like to send your students just fill out the form below, this does not lock anything in, it just gives us a better idea of how to plan going forward. Thank you!
