Questions for Reflection
Review the Sermon:
Exodus 10:1-3, Matthew 12:38-40)
- How can we experience the "miraculous" in natural law?
- Who is responsible for the hardening of Pharoah's heart?
- What is the difference between a sign and a wonder?
Dive into Scripture:
- In Ex 10:1, God says, “I have hardened [Pharaoh’s] heart…” but take a look at these other verses that lead up to chapter ten: 7:22, 8:15, 8:32, 9:7, 9:12, 9:34….
- What does it mean to have a “hard heart”?
- Who is responsible for Pharaoh’s hardened heart and all the evil that ensued?
- What do we learn from the seeming contradictions in these verses about who hardened Pharaoh’s heart?
- What does God say is the purpose of the miracles He performs?
Live it Out:
- In what areas of your life do you need a “softer” heart? What keeps us from seeing miracles as miracles?
- What are the ways in which we can sharpen our eyes to see the miracles God is doing all around us?
- How can we see miracles as miracles in our everyday lives?
