During Jesus’ time, the sheepfold was a place of security. There would be only one way into the enclosure, and that was through the gate or door. What does this tell us about what Jesus meant when he says in verse 9, “I am the gate for the sheep.”?
In verse 3, Jesus says that the shepherd “calls on his own sheep by name and leads them out.” What dos this tell you about God’s character, and his knowledge of you?
Jesus warned about the thief and the robber. What does the thief do? What can the sheep do to defend against the thief?
Jesus says that because he is the gate, all who enter through him will be saved, and will find pasture. What does that mean to you for each day?
In light of this truth, are there things you are not doing right now that you can do to live out this Scripture?
