On March 20, 2022, a Special Congregational Meeting was held for the calling of the Senior Pastor Candidate presented by the Senior Pastor Search Committee.
After a two-day voting period, ballots were collected from active members & counted. Church Chair, Dan Crichton, shares the results of the vote.
Dear Lake Avenue Church Members and Friends,
The Lake Avenue Church membership has confirmed the call of Rev. Dr. Mathew P. John to be our next Senior Pastor. The voting results which began on Sunday and concluded at 5 p.m. Tuesday evening were reported to our Ministry Council on Tuesday evening. A total of 671 ballots were collected & verified from the active membership of the church. The final results of the vote was 597 voting “yes”, thus 91% of votes received by active members affirmed the calling of the Senior Pastor Candidate.
Pastor Mathew’s time serving Lake as its next Senior Pastor officially begins on April 3, 2022.
A formal installation service is being planned by the Ministry Council as part of the worship service on May 15, 2022. Together as a community, we invite you to join with the Ministry Council in praying for Mathew and Joanne, our staff, and our entire church family in this season of transition, as Mathew moves into his new role and as together, we seek to obey all God intends for Lake in our next season.
