Dear Lake Avenue Church Family,
As I write this letter, we are once again reminded of God’s faithfulness to our church. We enter this New Year with so much to celebrate! During the Christmas season, it was such a blessing worshiping together as a church community and celebrating the birth of our King. We enjoyed a wonderful holiday concert, and we were able to share the joy of Christmas as families and as a community.
When Pastor Scott and I kicked off the Advent season, we let you know that we had a large hill to climb to catch up on our operational budget needs for the year. We waited expectantly to see what God would do at Lake Avenue. If we have learned anything these past two years, it is that we need to put our trust in the Lord, and He will provide. Thank you for your generous giving. Not only did we as a church meet that need, we blew past it. God is faithful, and God is preparing us for the next season!
As we are in a time of transition, the Ministry Council is going to be holding a series of congregational meetings over the next few months to share information as well as to conduct our normal church business. The first meeting will be held this Sunday, January 9 at 11:00 AM, directly following the church service in the Worship Center. At the meeting, we will spend some time in thanksgiving for what God is doing, provide an update on our vision and plans, discuss the status of our Bylaws improvement activities, and affirm a new appointment on the Senior Pastor Search Committee (SPSC). We will stream the meeting for those who are unable to attend in person. We anticipate that the next congregational business meeting will be held in early March 2022.
You can find out more information about the January 9 Special Congregational Meeting visit - here.
As we reflect on God’s goodness, here is a verse from Psalm 100:4-5 (NIV) to consider:
“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.”
For generations, we have seen the Lord’s faithfulness to Lake Avenue Church. We are reminded of His continuing love and faithfulness toward us as we serve Him. Praise God for who He is and for what He will accomplish in the coming year. May you be richly blessed by the love of Jesus.
In Christ,
Dan Crichton
