Dear Lake Avenue Church Family,

We will gather for our Summer Church Meeting on Sunday, August 27, 2023. This gathering presents a wonderful opportunity for our church family to come together and engage in several essential topics that will shape our church and our ministries for the coming year.

During the meeting, we will:

  1. Provide updates to our membership.
  2. Conduct our election of Elders under the new covenant.
  3. Present the annual Ministry Plan outlining our objectives and initiatives.
  4. Approve the proposed Ministry Plan & Budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

The Church Meeting will be in-person and available for streaming online. We understand that some may be unable to attend physically, and we want to ensure that everyone can participate in this important event.

To facilitate your engagement and understanding of the topics to be discussed, we have prepared a summer meeting packet containing all the relevant information. This packet will give you insight into the leadership slate, and the proposed Ministry Plan & Budget. I encourage you to review this material in advance of the meeting.

One significant aspect of this gathering is the leadership slate presented by the diligent work of our Leadership Development Team. They have been actively involved in identifying and interviewing potential leaders to serve on the Elder Council. You can find video introductions of the nominees at www.lakeave.org/ldt. Voting for the leadership slate will be open to active members for a 2-day period, providing flexibility in participating through various voting methods, including online, over the phone, paper ballot, or e-mail. Additional voting details are available at www.lakeave.org/leadership starting Aug 27, 2023.

We have been truly blessed this past year as we have seen so many moments of God’s Spirit pouring into our church.   From the “Rooted Movement” to  numerous baptisms, the power of the gospel has been transforming our church in new ways.   As we journey together in seeking God's Kingdom, let us unite in listening to His direction for us and sharing His love, grace, and mercy with the world. I invite you all to join us on August 27 in the Worship Center following the service.

In closing, let us remember the words of Psalm 136:1, "Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever."

Blessings,

Dan Crichton, Church Chair
